Having traveled twice around the world during his Navy years, Dave Graham had a love for the sea that he could see stretching all the way back to his Danish ancestors. He owned several boats—not counting the small stuff like dinghies or canoes that he built, himself—throughout his career as an educator and work in the behavioral sciences for troubled youth.
When the near-forgotten dream of making a long voyage in a deep water sailboat pulled him out of retirement, he realized he still had resources inside that he had never tapped into. That journey led to things much bigger than he dreamed. He is also the founder of the Wilderness School Institute, a nonprofit organization where "they take learning back to nature." He and his wife live on a float house in Thorne Bay, Alaska. You can get in touch with him via his blog, Compass Points or send him a message from the contact page on this website. Dave's book is published by: Lightsmith Publishers
